“Prodigal” is the first single off of NOjO’s upcoming album, “Modern Psalms III.” It’s essentially a modern retelling of the parable of the Prodigal Son, framing NOjO himself as the younger son who forsakes his inheritance and wastes it on sinful living, only to come crawling back to the Father to beg for mercy. And of course, the Father actually gives grace rather than mercy — every time we come back to God after we’ve sinned, God wraps us in His arms, reminds us of how much He loves us, and gives us another glimpse at the infinite and eternal inheritance we have in Christ Jesus.
NOjO is a Christian hip-hop artist from North Carolina, on a mission to leverage his creative gifts for the expansion and edification of the Kingdom of Heaven. His upcoming album, Modern Psalms III, is the most Christ-centered art he’s yet to create — his style is raw and vulnerable, bold and direct in his own personal confessions of sin, his rebukes of the sins of the world, and his proclamations of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. NOjO’s background in creative writing and his mathematical mind combine to create his unique style of lyricism. His ultimate dream is to build an all-inclusive artist collective, starting with a non-profit record label, to essentially “be the Church” by taking church to people and thus be a force for unity in an ever-divided world.
